Italian Leather Walking Boots | Pack the Perfect Kit For Winter Walks
When the weather gets colder it’s important to make sure you have the correct walking kit with you. The team at Grisport have put together a checklist to make sure that you’re not left out in the cold this winter.
During the winter months, it’s important to stay warm and the best way to do that is through building up lots of different layers on your upper body. This should be made up of a base layer, mid layer, soft shell and then an outer layer. It might be a good idea to pack an additional one in case the weather starts to become a little wetter.
It’s always important to have an emergency kit when you are out walking just in case you or anybody in your group has an accident of some sort. During the winter, you will be aware that the nights are darker and that you might end up walking in the dark. Therefore, it is very important to make sure you put a minimum of one torch and a spare torch with a spare set of batteries in case they run out.
Ice axes and crampons
When you are walking further up the mountains, there could be a chance of snow. It’s always better to be over prepared than underprepared. Many walkers take out ice axes and attach crampons to their boots if the weather becomes frosty. Crampons will help give walkers the necessary traction when you’re walking.
It is always important to wear a good pair of socks if you are planning on a long walk. Thick socks will make sure your feet are kept warm in the winter whilst you are out walking. Making sure you have good quality socks is important to also protect against blisters as this could hinder your walk and make it less enjoyable. We would recommend to carry a spare pair in your kit during the winter and pair them with some good quality Italian walking boots.
Italian leather walking boots
The ultimate piece in everyone’s walking kit should be a pair of good quality boots. Italian walking boots are known for their impressive quality and durability. There are many different styles of walking boot you can choose from, including a boot and a shoe but during the winter months we would advise you to opt for a boot as it will give your feet more coverage.
