Why not do some good while taking part in a trekking event? There are some great charity walks all around the country, with Macmillan and The British Heart Foundation. As they are all year round, it’s a great way to try on your waterproof walking shoes. So why not take part in a trekking event while raising money for a great charity? Take a look at some of the best below:

Loch Lomond Hike

Starting in Scotland, Macmillan have created an event called the Loch Lomond Mighty Hike on the 3rd June 2017. This 26-mile hike is not for the faint hearted but when completed, the achievement can be soaked up in the tranquil village of Tarbet. This walk will start in Stirling and is stretched out along the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, which is the biggest loch/lake in Britain. So, this walk will certainly be a walk to remember.

Peak District Mighty Hike

The peak district is a great walk for any hikers as it has many hills to defeat, but once complete the views are not to be missed. This 26-mile hike will walk alongside the River Dove and the Tissington trail to eventually end at Buxton. This is a great hike to test out your walking boots in, as there are many hills and different terrains to test them out on. This will take place on the 2nd September 2017 paired up with Macmillan.

Yorkshire three Peaks Challenge

Do you want to take part in one of the most well-known walks in Britain? The Yorkshire three Peaks challenge is definitely one to take part in. This walk covers 24 miles of hiking with over 5,000 feet of climbing. This walk is difficult but it’s one that needs to be completed in any hiker’s life. So, a perfect way to take part is joining up with The British Heart Foundation to make it even more of an achievement. This walk takes place on the 8th July 2017 starting in Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

Hadrian’s Wall Hike

Hadrian’s wall is a great walk to conquer, this walk is 50k. Yet when achieved you will be in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland. As you would be walking across the country, this walk will allow you to take in many different sights. This walk takes place on the 7th May 2017 joined up with The British Heart Foundation.

Snowdon Moonlight Hike

This hike is like no other, climb Mount Snowdon, lit only by the moonlight and your head torch. This is a walk for the adrenaline seekers, experiencing Snowdon like not many others, it will be a walk you will not forget in a hurry.  It takes place on the 5th August 2017, raising money for Macmillan.
